I flew to LA for 48 hours...
Have you ever done something that makes people around you ask why you have done it?
Of course you have because you're running your own business. Chances are, at least one person that you care for has asked you at some point why you're doing what you are.
I get this all the time.
Last week for instance, I flew to LA for 48 hours so I could attend a conference and I turned around and came straight back home.
When one of my friends was asked where I'd gone, she jokingly said I'd joined a cult.
The thing is, sometimes people that aren't entrepreneurs don't understand what it's all about and why we do the things that we do.
And I learnt so much during my time in the US, it's not true. I spent my time there surrounded by those who think nothing of making six figures when they launch. Every. Single. Time.
And I'm willing to bet that as and when you come to getting publicity for yourself and your business, those same people who don't understand, will question why you are doing it too.
The thing is, you have to let it be like water off a duck's back.
Ignore them, and do it anyway. Because it's not about you. It's about them.
It's about Sarah who needs to hear your expert opinion on how she can look at things more positively, how she should embrace 2020 and make it her year and who is now walking on cloud nine after reading your words in her favourite magazine. Because without realising it, you have provided a slither of hope and she has found it in you.
You see how this works? Your PR storytelling, helps to cement you as an expert. And that expert status leads to more reach and more impact.
So when those doubters ask you why you're doing all of this just smile and think of Sarah.
And know that you have so got this. Maybe one day they will get it. Maybe they won't.
But the most important thing is that you're treading your own path.
Whether that means you spend 48 hours in LA before flying home again - just to hear the inner workings of a seven figure launch.
You are you and that's all that matters.
